ATTA LADOO / WHEAT LADOO

I never heard or tasted this delicious laddu until my friend Sangeetha gave me for tasting.  Last week I visited her and she asked me to taste this laddu.  She told me that she got it from her Punjabi friend and we could not find what kind off laddu it was.  We were thinking to ask her friend about the recipe.  Today I wanted to try this coz the taste of ladoo tempted me to surf the recipe.  I just surfed as Punjabi ladoo and it just pulled up all the variety of ladoos :-)  I gone through the pics one by one and finally I got it from the you tube with the same texture of ladoo what Sangeetha gave me.  I tried making this with my own measurements and the nuts and wow....it was too good and turned out very well.   I admire with this texture and the flavour of this healthy ladoo.  In North India this is one of the must sweet for Diwali and they are making this often during the winter.  It is very very simple and try this flavourful healthy ladoo for this Diwali :-)

INGREDIENTS:

Wheat flour            - 1 cup
Sugar                      - 3/4 cup
Mixed of nuts         - 1/4 cup (I used Almonds, pistachio)
Grated coconut       - 2 tsp
Ghee                       - 1/2 cup or as needed
Cardamom powder - a pinch

HOW TO MAKE:

Dry roast the wheat flour in the pan until the nice aroma comes.  Stir continuously and do not burnt the bottom.  When it started turning brown turn off the stove.  Keep aside.

In the same kadai / pan dry roast the nuts and once cooled down in mixie / blender give a gentle strokes and make a coarse powder.  Keep aside.

Make a fine powder of sugar by using mixie / blender.  In a wide pan / bowl add roasted wheat flour, powdered nuts, sugar powder and the cardamom powder.  Mix well.

Heat the ghee and add in the mixture little by little and mix well.  When it is warm enough take mixture in hand and shape ladoos.

TIPS:

If the 1/2 cup ghee is not enough heat enough ghee as you needed.

Adding grated coconut will give a nice texture and the flavour.

Instead powder the nuts you can add as it is or can be broke into small pieces.
