DAL DHOKLI

Dal Dhokli is a traditional dish of Gujarati Cuisine.  Rarely we order food from Indian Spice snacks and everyday they have fresh foods.  Last sunday, when I called they said Dal Dhokli is special and it was very new to me.  I ordered a small box of it and after I tasted I thought I would have bought the large box :-) Kids loved it!  It consists of spicy wheat roti pieces submerged into dal.  This can be classified as one dish meal, but could also be served it with rice.  Its tastes awesome.  I could not resist myself by trying this delightful dish so here am!

Take a rolled circle and cut into pieces by using knife.  When the dal mixture start boiling, add the dough pieces one by one.  Add into batched and do not add over crowded.  Wait for min or two then add the second batch.

After adding all the pieces cook them in a medium flame and wait till all the pieces get cooked.  Stir occasionally in between.  Add lemon juice and stir well.  Turn off the stove and garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot with rice.

TIPS:

Adding more roti pieces makes dal very thick.  Add according to the dal level.

After adding lemon juice turn off the stove immediately.
