STEP BY STEP WHEAT IDLI

INGREDIENTS:

Cracked wheat - 4 cups
Urad dal          - 1 cup 
Salt                - as required 
Water             - as required

HOW TO MAKE:

Soak cracked wheat and urad for 4 to 5 hours. 

After soaked take soaked cracked wheat little by little and squeeze the water and transfer to the bowl. Grind urad into fine batter.

Add ground urad batter to the squeezed wheat and add required salt.


Mix well and keep covered until fermented.   Check below picture how the batter fermented.

 

Combine well and add water if required and bring into idli batter consistency. 

Pour idli batter in the idli plate and steam for 10 to 12 minutes or until cooked. 


Hot, Soft and Spongy Wheat Idli is ready to serve. Serve with any chutney or sambar of your choice.
