KILLU BONDA




Killu Bonda is an easy dish which can be prepared by idly / dosa batter and with other ingredients onions, coriander leaves, green chillies and hing (Asafoetida).  Kids will love this snack and easily can be prepared in the evenings after they return from the school.  Enjoy preparing this easy snack.

INGREDIENTS:

Idly batter           - 2 cups
Onions                - 1 finely chopped
Curry leaves &
Coriander leaves - 2 tsp finely chopped
Grated carrot       - 1 tsp
Asafoetida           - a pinch
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt                      - as needed
Oil                       - for deep frying

HOW TO MAKE:

In a bowl mix all the ingredients except oil and keep aside.


 

Heat oil in a kadai, oil should be very hot.  You can check the oil by dripping a small batter mixture and if it come up immediately then the oil is ready for frying.  Take a spoon a batter and start drop in the oil.  You can fry 3 to 4 bondas at a time.  Turn it when the bondas coming up and fry until it turn into brown in color.


Drain it in a tissue and serve hot.



Killu bonda is ready for serving.  Serve hot with any chutney or sauce.



TIPS:

The consistency should be like idly batter consistency.  Do not add water.
