NIMKI / NAMAKPARE

Last weekend my kids were asking me to do some snack I was no clue what I can! I was doing something in my laptop and started to searching some snack recipes....I found this Nimki / Namakpare which is very easy with only three ingredients...This is a North Indian snack which they normally makes during Diwali.  Less time consuming too...That's it I have started to make this...wow...it was awesome...This recipe made with both wheat flour and all purpose / maida and I used all purpose flour. Enjoy this crispy Nimki an easy and simple recipe which you can munch with tea / coffee :-)

INGREDIENTS:

All purpose flour   - 1 cup
Kalonji                  - 2 tsp
Oil                         - 2 tsp
Salt                        - as needed
Oil                         - for deep frying

HOW TO MAKE:

In a bowl mix all purpose flour, kalonji, needed salt and 2 tsp of oil.  Mix a soft dough by adding water little by little.  The dough should not be sticky.  Make it like chappathi dough. Keep covered for 20 mins then start to make small balls out of it.  Keep aside.

Stat to make thin roti and fold it into half.  Then fold the half again and make a triangle of it.  See the pic below for the reference.

Take a fork and poke it here and there on the triangle and keep aside.  Meanwhile heat oil in a deep frying pan.  Start to make triangles with all the balls and keep aside.

Once the oil got heated up start to drop down the triangles one by one and you can fry 5 to 6 Nimki at a batch.  Keep fry the nimki till it turn into golden brown.

Drain the Nimki on a paper towel to remove excess oil.

Nimki / Namakpare is ready.  Have it with tea / coffee or munch anytime... :-)

TIPS:

Do not add more water otherwise the dough will be sticky.

Always use deep fry pan so you can add 7 to 8 nimki at a time.
