UPMA CUTLET

Upma cutlet is a very simple recipe which can be made with leftover Rava Upma.  Most of the people do not like rava upma...I donno why!!! Whenever I tell my family that I am going to make Rava upma for dinner...There will be silent :-)  End of the day whatever I make they have to eat and there is no choice ;-) Last week when I was surfing something I could see this Upma cutlet recipe and I decided to try it out!  Yesterday I made upma for dinner and obviously there was a leftover :-) I tried this cutlet with the leftover and wow...it was yum...and no one can say that it is made it from upma. Try this easy recipe and trust me you will love it!

INGREDIENTS:

Leftover upma        - 1 cup
Corn flour               - 3 tsp
Pepper powder       - 1/4 tsp
Bread crumbs         - 1/2 cup or as needed
Salt                         - as needed
Oil                          - for shallow frying

HOW TO MAKE:

Take leftover upma and mash well.  In a bowl mix corn flour, pepper powder and salt by adding little water.  The consistency should be thick not watery.  Take bread crumbs in a plate.

Make equal balls from upma and flatten it by using your palm.  Dip each of them in the corn flour mixture and then dust it with the bread crumbs.  Coat well all the sides.

Heat oil in a tawa for shallow fry and place all of them.  Cook well and flip it on the other side and then cook well both sides.

Serve with ketch up or any sauce as your choice.

TIPS:

Add chopped coriander leaves in the corn mixture for a flavour.  Ajwain or cumin seeds also can be added.

Green chilli or red chilli will be there in the upma so if you want less spicy adding pepper powder can be avoided.

Any variety of upma can be made it as cutlet.
