INGREDIENTS:

Rice flour             - 1 Cup
Besan flour           - 1 Cup
Onion                    - 1/2 Cup chopped
Coriander leaves   - 1/4 Cup chopped
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder   - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida             - 1/4 tsp
Salt                        - to taste
Melted butter        - 2 tsp
Water                    - as required

ONION PAKKODA STEP BY STEP:

Take all the ingredients in a bowl except oil.  Mix everything by hand and make it as crumbs, it helps the ingredients to mix evenly.  Then add water little by little and make a fine thick dough.  Dough should not be watery.

The consistency should be able to hold the dough as shown in the below picture.  Heat oil in a kadai and when the oil is hot enough to fry carefully drop the dough little by little by hands.  Spoon can be used instead dropping by hands.  Fry pakoras in batches and do not over crowded them.  Flip them often and fry in a medium flame to cook evenly.

Allow to fry till it turn golden brown and remove them from the oil once it is cooked.  Place them in a paper towel to remove excess oil.  In the same oil fry some curry leaves and garnish the pakoras 😊

Enjoy having pakoras with hot coffee or tea 😋
