STEP BY STEP CABBAGE PAPPU:
INGREDIENTS
Cabbage - 4 cups chopped / small size cabbage
Toor dal - 1 cup
Onion - 1 big
Tomato - 2
Garlic - 4 - 5 cloves
Green chili - 5 - 6 slit in the middle
Water - as required
Salt - to taste
TO TEMPER:
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Garlic - 1 tbsp chopped
Curry leaves - few
HOW TO MAKE:
In instant pot add all the ingredients along with required water. (Fill up till the ingredients covered with water, approximately 6 cups). Cover the lid, turn on pressure cook mode for 9 min in high pressure. If you are using pressure cook allow 4 - 5 whistles.
Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds, add cumins seeds, red chillies, chopped garlic and curry leaves. Saute until golden brown.
Temper on the cooked cabbage dal and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Instant pot Cabbage Dal is ready to serve. Serve with hot rice along with ghee and this is good to go with Rotis as well.
TIPS:
If you are using a pressure cooker allow whistles as your convenience and it is depends on the cooker and the dal.
Other veggies can be added like chow chow, broad beans, spinach etc.,
