STEP BY STEP FOXTAIL MILLET PULAO
INGREDIENTS:
Foxtain Millet - 1 cup
Onion - 1 big finely chopped
Beans - 1 cup cut lengthwise
Capsicum - 1 cut lengthwise
Ginger - 1 tsp grated
Garlic - 5 cloves finely chopped
Green chili - 5 finely chopped
Salt - to taste
Coriander leaves - for garnishing
TEMPER:
Oil - 1 tbsp
Cinnamon stick - 2 small pieces
Bay leaf - 2
Star anise - 1
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
HOW TO MAKE:
Wash foxtail millet pressure cook by adding 2 cups of water. Allow 4 to 5 whistles. Once cooked cool down and mix gently to separate the grains. Keep aside.
In a pan heat oil, add cinnamon stick, bay leaf, star anise and cumin seeds. Add chopped onion, garlic, green chillies and grated ginger. Add needed salt.
Mix well and cook until translucent.
Add chopped vegetables on your choice. I have added beans and capsicum. Saute for two minutes. Do not over cook the vegetables.
Add cooked foxtail millet and mix gently. Cook in medium flame for 2 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Foxtail Millet Pulao is ready to serve 😋
TIPS:
Any millets can be added for making this pulao.
Add vegetables on your choice.
Ginger Garlic paste can be added instead chopped ginger and garlic.
Green chili paste can be added instead chopped chilies.
