STEP BY STEP INSTANT POT LADIES FINGER SAMBAR:

INGREDIENTS:

Ladies fingers - 1 Cup chopped
Toor dal         - 1 Cup
Onion            - 1 Bip chop lenngthwise
Tomato          - 1 Chopped
Green Chilies  - 5 
Tamarind Juice - 2 Cups
Sambar Powder - 2 tbsp 
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp 
Asafoetida          - 1/4 tsp 
Salt                    - to taste
Water                 - as required 
Curry leaves        - few 

TO TEMPER:

Oil                      - 1 tbsp 
Mustard Seeds     - 1/2 tsp 
Fenugreek Seeds  - 1/s tsp 

HOW TO MAKE:

Cut ladies finger into pieces (size can be as desired). Wash toor dal and keep aside. Soak tamarind in a cup of water for 20 minutes.  Extract tamarind juice by adding water to make 1 or 2 cups of tamarind juice.  


Turn on saute mode in instant pot.  Heat oil, splutter mustard seeds add fenugreek seeds, chopped onions, chopped tomatoes and slitted green chilies along with needed salt.  Saute until onion translucent. 


Add chopped ladies finger and saute for couple of minutes. 


Add sambar powder, turmeric powder and asafoetida.  Give it a mix. 


Add tamarind juice and toor dal.  


Add 3 to 4 cups of water for needed consistency.  Stir well and cover the lid.  Pressure cook for 6 minutes. Wait until the pressure released.  


Instant Pot Vendaikkai Sambar is ready to serve 😋


TIPS:

Same method can be followed to make in pressure cooker. 

Other way, cook toor dal separately and follow the same steps. 

Vegetables can be added as desired.
