STEP BY STEP CHOW CHOW CHUTNEY:
INGREDIENTS:
Chow Chow skin - 1 cup or one whole chow chowTomato - 1 cut into pieces
Chana dal - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Red chili - 4 to 5 / as required
Tamarind - small piece
Salt - to taste
Water - as required
HOW TO MAKE:
I have made chow chow kootu and I have used the skin for making this chutney. Instead you can use the one whole chow chow. I used two chow chow skin.
Heat oil in a pan, add chanadal, urad dal and red chili. Saute until golden brown.
Add chow chow skin or chopped chow chow, tamarind and chopped tomatoes. Add needed salt. Cook until the veggies are tendered. Cool down completely.
Transfer to blender and grind into fine paste by adding little water.
Spicy and Delicious Chow Chutney is ready to serve.
TIPS:
Tindora, Ridge Gourd, Bottle gourd and other veggies also can be used for making this chutney.
Onion, ginger and garlic can be added for more flavor.
