DAHI PURI / CHAAT RECIPES

Dahi puri is is a form of chaat and originates from Maharashtra, India.  It is my hubby's favourite chaat & he just enjoy every bite of it.  Last week I posted golgappa and I have stored enough for the this week to make bhel & dahi.  As I mentioned in my Pani puri post whenever we go for chaats, for me & my husband this is the first order.  It is very easy to prepare if we have puris and chutnyes in hand. Make it at home an enjoy your time.

INGREDIENTS:

Puri                              - as needed
Mashed potatoes          - 1/2 cup
Curd                             - 1/2 cup
Sev                               - as needed
Green chutney              - 2 tsp
Chaat powder                - 1 tsp
Cumin powder              - 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder         - 1/4 tsp
Onion                            - 1 finely chopped
Salt                                - as needed
Sugar                             - 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves           - 2 to 3 tsp finely chopped

HOW TO MAKE:

Pressure cook potatoes, peel the skin and mash well.  In a bowl add mashed potatoes, little chopped coriander leavers, red chilli powder, cumin powder, chaat powder and needed salt.  Mix well.

Take puri and make a hole in the middle by pressing your thumb as shown in the picture.  Place a tspf of potato mixture inside and place it on the serve plate.

Take curd in a bowl add sugar and little salt.  Whisk well without any lumps.  Pour the curd on each stuffed puris.

Then put tamarind date chutney and then on the top green chutney.  Garnish with finely chopped onions on the top.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and then on the top put handful of sev.

Dahi puri is ready.  Enjoy every bite :-)
