VEGGIE BURGER / VEG BURGER / VEGGIE PATTY

Burger!!! When we moved to Australia the first food I had was Burger!  I don't prefer eating Non-Veg on some days and the day we landed, for me it was a veggie day :-(  No way I could compromise and have something non veg.  Actually speaking after a long travel I just need only rasam rice which is a heaven for me :-)  Anywhere there were no choice to make rasam or to have something other coz it was a weekend some some public holiday I could get any of my favourite.  We went to Subway, there I could have only option, the burger with veggie pattie.  Subway - very first in my life time...But after had the veggie patty burger some how I felt ok and till now if we go to subway my choice is veggie patty burger :-)  My kids love subway but I am not he he...Rarely they want to go which I can't help it :-) As I always says, it was in my try list for long time and for last weekend I just tried.  It was awesome to the core.  My kids just loved it and I could see the happiness when they had the home made burger.  That was lovely appreciation I got it from my kids....and really it was wowwww....

INGREDIENTS:

Burger bun         - 2
Lettuce               - 2 leaves
Capsicum           - 2 thin slices
Tomato               - 2 slices
Cucumber          - 2 slices
Cheese                - 1 slice
Mustard sauce    -1 tsp
Tomato sauce     - 1 tsp

For Patty:

Potates                   - 2
Spinach                  - 1 cup finely chopped
Onion                     - 1 finely chopped
Red chilli powder  - 1/2 tsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Oats                        - 1/4 cup
Salt                         - as needed
Olive oil                 - as needed

HOW TO MAKE:

Cut potatoes into half and pressure cook it.  Allow 3 to 4 whistles.  After it's done, peel the skin and mash it well.  In a bowl add mashed potato, chopped onion, spinach, red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste and salt.  Add 1/4 tsp of olive oil.

In a mixie or blender make fine powder of oats.  Add oats powder in the mixture.

Mix well with hands and divide into equal big size balls or the size of the patty you want.

Heat a tava, and place two to three balls and give a gentle pressure on the top and flat the patty.  Do not press too hard.  Cook the patty and just sprinkle olive oil or cooking oil.  I used olive.  Wait until the color turn into golden brown and cooked then flip to the other side.  Cook well.  Once it is done remove from the tava and keep aside.

Patties are ready.

Cut burger buns in two pieces.  Normally it comes with with slight slit.  Apply butter spread both sides.  Heat tava and place the buns.  Heat both sides and just keep until it roast into light brown.

Place one slice on the plate, then on the top place lettuce.  Place veggie patty on the lettuce.  Place cheese slice on the top, then keep tomatoes and cucumber slices.  Sprinkle mustard sauce tomato sauce as per choice.   Place one more lettuce on the top then cover it with other bread on the top.

Veggie burger is ready to serve.
