Ginger Garlic paste is almost regular in Indian cooking, that to mostly in North Indian cooking.
I just love the flavour of this paste and it was in my long time wish to post homemade ginger garlic paste recipe. I never buy stored one and mostly I make instant paste whenever I needed. Last week I bought plenty fresh ginger from world food market and a bag of garlic. Making fresh ginger garlic paste is very good and flavoured than the stored one isn't it! I always prefer to make my own paste and keep refrigerated. I learnt this paste one of my Gujarathi friend Hema and she was the one taught me homemade ghee too. Thank you Hema :-)
INGREDIENTS:
Ginger - 1 cup
Garlic - 1 cup
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 1 tsp
HOW TO MAKE:
Peel the ginger skin and cut into pieces. Peel the garlic skin and keep aside. In a mixie / blender put ginger pieces and give two to three strokes.
Add oil, turmeric powder and garlic and grind it together and make a fine paste of it without adding water. Use spatula to mix it and do not use hands.
Store it in an airtight cleaned dried bottle and keep refrigerated.
TIPS:
Do not use hands at any cost and it will result forming fungus in the bottle edges.
