STEP BY STEP RAW BANANA FRY:

INGREDIENTS:

Raw Banana - 5 small
Red chili powder - 1/4 tsp Coriander powder - 1 tsp Garam masala - 1 tsp Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp Coriander leaves - for garnishing Salt - to taste TO TEMPER:
Oil - 2 tbsp Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds - 1 tsp Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp Green Chili - 4 - 5 Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp Curry leaves - few TO GRIND:
Coconut - 1/4 cup Fennel seeds - 1 tbsp

HOW TO MAKE:

Peel raw banana skin and cut into medium thick slices.  Keep them in a bowl of water to avoid raw banana change in color.  Heat oil in a kadai, splutter mustard seeds, add cumin seeds, green chili, curry leaves, asafoetida and turmeric powder.  Mix well. 



Add chopped raw banana pieces and mix gently without breaking them.  


Keep covered and cook until half cooked.  Stir occasionally.  


When half cooked add red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and garam masala.  Mix well and cook until soft. 


Meanwhile, grind coconut and fennel seeds into coarse powder.  


Once the raw banana cooked and soft and ground powder. 


Combine well and cook for 5 minutes in a medium flame.   Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. 


Raw Banana Fry is ready to serve.  Serve with Sambar, Rasam and curd rice of your choice.  It goes well with Morkuzhambu 😋😋


TIPS:

Keep raw banana pieces in a bowl of water to avoid change in color.  Cut right before cooking that helps not change in color quickly. 

Have added green chili in the beginning hence adjust spice level when adding red chili powder. 

Adding fennel seeds absolutely optional.
