APPLE HALWA


Here you go with a delicious Apple halwa sweet made of rich apples, nuts, ghee & sugar.  Its yumm...My friend Sheela visited us today and she gave an idea of this unusual sweet recipe which she came through when surfing.  Thank you for this wonderful recipe Sheela.  We just loved this fruity delight halwa.  Letz move for the recipe with step by step pic for your easy reference.


INGREDIENTS:

Red apples              - 4
Sugar                      - 1 1/2 cups
Ghee                       - 5 to 6 tsp
Cashews                 - 10 to 15 break into pieces
Cardamom powder - a pinch
Red / orange
food color         - a pinch

HOW TO MAKE:

Wash the apples, peel the skin and remove the seeds.  Cut into pieces and in a make a pulp without adding water.



Heat a tsp of ghee in the kadai and fry the cashews until turn into golden brown.  Keep aside.  In the same kadai add two more tsps of ghee and add the apple pulp.  Stir well and in 10 to 15 mins time apple pulp will form a thick gravy.


Add sugar stir well.  Add food color and keep on stirring.  Add fried cashews and ghee little by little.



Stir well and the halwa should not stick with the kadai.  Stir well until the ghee leaves the sides of the kadai.  Sprinkle cardamom powder and transfer into greased bowl.

Apple halwa is ready...


TIPS:

Instead of grinding apples by adding little water and boil well.  Then mash it.  It will consume little time so I made a pulp.

Also apple can be grated instead of grinding.
