POTATO CHEESY BALLS

Want to try something a bit different for a starter recipe which is very easy to make and tasty to eat? Many times I was thinking to make this snack and each time I would skip for no reason.  Finally, when my friend Viji asked for the recipe, I decided to give it a try and it turned out great! Thank you Viji for asking and giving me the motivation to try something new :-)

INGREDIENTS:

Potato                 - 1
Peas & carrot      - 1/4 cup finely chopped
Cheese               - 1/2 cup
Pepper                - 1/2 tsp
Bread crumbs     - 1/2 to 1 cup or as needed
Salt                     - as needed
Oil                      - for deep frying

HOW TO MAKE:

Boil potato, peel the skin and mash well allow to cool down.  In a bowl, add mashed potato, peas, carrot, cheese, pepper and salt.  Mix well and keep aside.

Make a small ball of it and keep the balls aside.  In a mixie just add two slices of bread and give two to three strokes to make crumbs.  Keep aside.  Dust all the balls one by one in the bread crumbs and let the balls stay for 15 mins aside.

After 15 mins, heat oil in a kadai and start to fry the balls. You can fry 3 to 4 balls in one time depends on the pan size.

Fry well until the balls turn golden brown.  Drain the balls in the tissue.

Potato Cheese balls ready.  Serve hot with any sauce :-)

TIPS:

Do not add water when you mix the vegetables and cheese.

Allow potato to cool down before adding the cheese.

Plain flour or maida can be added instead of bread crumbs.
