CAPSICUM PAKKODA / KUDAIMILAGAI PAKKODA



I always say myself to stay away from deep fried junks...but its vain :-)  Capsicum Pakkoda is the perfect appeitizing snack of its own kind for regular evenings n party as well...here for you the crunchy munchy Capsicum Pakkodas... :-)

INGREDIENTS:

Capsicum              - 1
Besan flour           - 1/4 cup
Rice flour             - 2 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder  - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida             - a pinch
Salt                       - as needed
Soda                     - a pinch
Oil                        - for deep frying

HOW TO MAKE:

Cut capsicum into half and remove the seeds.  Make thin slices as shown below.  Add besan flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, asafoedita, salt and soda.  Just spinkle water and mix well, the mixture should get the coat on the capsicum slices.




Let the mixture stay for 10 mins.  Heat oil in a deep kadai.  The oil should be very hot.  Start fry the capsicum mixture batch wise.  Fry until it turn brown in color.


Drain it on the tissue.   Capsicum Pakkoda is ready.  Serve hot with any chutney as your choice.  This is be excellent even without any side dish.




TIPS:

Do not sprinkle or add more water.

Cut capsicum even small pieces instead of slicing thinly.
