PAAL ICE / MILK POPSICLE / MILK ICE

Have you ever tasted Paal Ice? If not....here you go for the yummiest Ice where we get these from small vendors / ice cream seller in India.  Basically the small vendors comes in the small cart and in Tamil it is called "Thallu Vandi"   I am so lucky that I had tasted this Paal Ice often in my childhood and it is one of my favourites.  That time the price was 25 paise :-) We die for it during summer and that too those vendors rings the the bell and stopping at each house.  I still remember that I cried once for this ice and by the time I got ok from my mom he was all the way gone to the street corner :-( and me and my brother just running behind to the vendor and when we got the ice on hand...Wowww.... ha ha ha :-)  Sweet memories.  Already it is summer and this home made popsicles are yummy as well easy to make.  I have posted Rose Milk Popsicles , Muskmelon Popsicles & Mango Mini Popsicles.  This time it is Paal Ice :-) Just in three steps the yummiest paal ice will be ready!  Try this out and chill out for this summer!!!

INGREDIENTS:

Milk                    - 1 cup (I used 2%)
Condensed milk  - 1/2 cup (Sweetened)
Corn flour            - 1 tsp

HOW TO MAKE:

Mix corn flour in 2 tsp of milk without any lumps.  Keep aside.  Boil the remaining milk and add the corn flour mix.  Stir well without any lumps and turn off the stove.  Add sweetened condensed milk and stir well.  Allow to cool down.

Take a popsicle mould and fill the cooled mixture as shown in the pic.  Close it with the lid and freeze it for 8 to 9 hours or overnight.  Next day carefully show the mould under running water.

Carefully pull out the popsicle and serve immediately.

TIPS:

Sugar can be added instead condensed milk.  I used 2% milk and adding condensed milk gives rich and creamy texture.  If you are adding sugar then add it in the milk and allow to boil well and wait till the milk comes half of the quantity.

Cardamom powder can be added for flavour.
