TOOR DAL DOSA / THUVARAM PARUPPU DOSA / KANDHINUKA DOSA


This is a simple and delicious dosa which we can make without fermentation.  This dosa is very much filling and easy to make.  Yesterday thought of making ADAI and I changed my mind to use one dal and make this dosa.  It was too scrumptious.  Many people use toor dal only for sambar and dal preparation and for a change here is an instant toor dal dosa for you :-)  


INGREDIENTS:

Rice                    - 1 cup
Toor dal              - 1/4 cup
Urad dal             - 2 tsp
Cumin seeds      - 2 tsp
Hing                   - a pinch
Salt                    - as needed

HOW TO MAKE:

Soak rice, toor dal and urad dal together for 4 hours.  In a blender / mixie or grinder make a coarse batter by adding water little by little.  Add salt while grinding.  


Transfer the batter to the bowl, add hing and cumin seeds.  Mix well and the consistency should be like dosa batter.  


Heat dosa tawa and once it is ready pour a ladle of batter in the centre and make a thin circle out of it. Drizzle some oil and let it get cook till it get crispy and flip it to other side.


Let it get cook well and crispy.  Serve hot.  


TIPS:

Add curry leaves, coriander leaves and chopped onions as per your choice. 

You can add turmeric powder.  For spicy lovers add red chilli powder or chopped green chillies.
