Add coconut slices and green chili.  Roast until golden brown.  Add turmeric powder, amchur powder, asafoetida, salt and curry leaves.

Saute for couple of minutes in low flame.  Add roasted poha / aval.  Combine well to coat all the spices evenly.

Add sugar powder and this step is optional. Adding sugar will give fantastic taste and you can skip if you does not like adding the same. Mix well.

Scrumptious tea time snack Poha Chivda is ready.  Store in an airtight container and it stays fresh up to 3 weeks.

TIPS:

Poha / aval can be microwaved for 5 minutes.  If so, drizzle some oil in the poha and then microwave.

Poha can be shallow fried too.  I wanted to avoid too much oil so dry roasted the poha.

Adding nuts and other crunchy ingredients are absolutely your choice.

For more spicy add red chili powder.

Adding sugar powder at the end is absolutely optional and this can be skipped.
