IDLY TIKKA

Got bored with same Idly and Sambar??? When I make Paneer Tikka always I wish to try to do with Mini Idlies but somehow it got skipped in my way.  Finally I have made this and served with Dates Chutney and Bombay Green Chutney. Extra patience and time is needed to make this..But instead of making chutneys we can save the time by using this vegetables...Healthy isn't it!!! :-) Try this Idly Tikka and enjoy...Lets go and prepare the Idly Tikka...Join with me... :-)

INGREDIENTS:

Mini idlies            - 10 to 15 or as you need
Capsicum             - 2 any two colors or as you like
Onion                   - 1
Pepper powder     - 1/2 tsp
Idly podi              - 2 tsp
Oil                        - 2 tsp

HOW TO MAKE:

Remove seeds from the capsicums and cut into pieces as shown in the picture.  Cut onion into four parts and take out the layers one by one as shown in the pic and keep aside.

Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan and saute capsicums and onions.  Sprinkle salt and pepper powder.  Saute well for 5 mins.  Do not add water or do not cook well.  Capsicums and onions should be crispy.  Keep aside.

Heat 1 tsp of oil in the same pan and saute mini idlies with idly podi.  Mix well the idly podi with the idly and keep aside.

Take the sticks and decorate idlies, capsicum and onions as you like.

Serve with chutneys.  We had this Idly Tikka with dates chutney and Bombay Green Chutney (Store one).  It was awesome and we love it... :-)

TIPS:

Vegetables like Carrot & Cucumber also can be added in the stick

I used idly podi and make masala idly instead of using podi.

Make coriander chutney and fry the idly in that and can make it as coriander tikka.
