PUDHINA CHUTNEY / MINT CHUTNEY

INGREDIENTS:

Mint leaves         - 1 bunch
Grated coconut   - 2 tsp
Green chillies      - 2 to 3
Fried gram dhal /
Pottukadalai        - 1 tsp
Tamarind            - small piece
Salt                     - as needed

To temper:

Oil                      - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds    - 1/2
Urad dhal           - 1 tbsp


HOW TO MAKE:

Take off leaves from the stem and wash well in the water.  Heat kadai and saute the leaves for a min.  Do not fry well.  Allow to cool down.


In a mixie add grated coconut, fried gram dhal, tamarind, green chillies and the mint leaves.  Add needed salt.  Grind and make it a fine paste.

Heat oil in a small pan splutter mustard seeds add urad dhal.  Add curry leaves. Add the seasoning on the chutney and mix well.



Pudhina Chutney is ready... :-)  Serve with hot idlies & dosa :-)



TIPS:

Coriander chutney can be made in this same method.
