PANEER KURMA



Always tomato kurma for roties?  Tried kurma with Paneer and it was awesome.  Sometimes I get mad to make same kind of dishes for roties and its boring too.  Here is the kurma with Paneer and my kids loved it.  Enjoy kurma with Paneer and let me know the feedback.


INGREDIENTS:

Paneer / Cottage cheese   - 500 gm
Onion                              - 1 finely chopped
Tomato                            - 2 finely chopped
Garlic                              - 3 cloves finely chopped
Red chilli powder           - 1 tsp
Coriander powder          - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala                - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder           - 1/4 tsp
Salt                                - as needed
Coriander leaves           - for garnishing

To grind:

Grated coconut             - 4 tsp
Fennel seeds                 - 1 tsp
Cashews                       - 5 to 6
Green chillies               - 2

To temper:

Oil                               - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds                - 1/2 tsp

HOW TO MAKE:

Cut paneer into pieces.  Heat a tsp of oil in a pan and roast the paneer pieces till turn to golden brown.  Keep aside.


Make a fine paste of all the ingredients under "to grind" table.  Keep aside.



Heat oil in a kadai add cumin seeds.  Add chopped onions and garlic and fry until turn into transparent. Add chopped tomatoes mix well.  Add red chilli, coriander and turmeric powder, garam masala. Add needed salt.  Blend well and add 1/2 cup of water.  Allow to boil.



When it boiling add fried paneer pieces and mix well. Add ground paste blend well and add a cup of water or as need the consistency.



Bring to boil and garnish with coriander leaves.



TIPS:

For idly kurma do not add garam masala.  It will b awesome for Idlies :-)

Mushroom and other vegetables also can be added with paneer or instead of paneer.
