SPICY CHUTNEY / KARA CHUTNEY



INGREDIENTS:

Onion                  - 4 chopped
Red chillies         - 10
Garlic                  - 5 cloves
Tomato                - 1 chopped
Salt                      - as needed
Gingelly oil         - 2 tsp

To temper:

Oil                      - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds    - 1/2 tsp
Urad dhal           - 1 tsp


HOW TO MAKE:

Cut onion and tomato into pieces and add all the other ingredients in the mixer.  Grind it together and make a fine paste with needed salt.


Heat oil in a kadai splutter mustard seeds add urad dhal.  Pour the ground paste and stir well.  Do not add water.  Stir for 5 to 7 minutes or till the raw smell goes.  Turn off the stove.  Add gingelly oil and transfer to serving bowl.


TIPS:

Use small onions and it tastes awesome.

Do not add water the chutney should be like gravy consistency.
