MUSHROOM MUNCHURIAN


Manchurian is one of the popular Indo Chinese starter recipe.  Any variety of munchurian will go well fried rice.  Whenever we go to restaurant if we order fried rice then definitely the Gobi munchurian will be there.  Munchurian can be either gravy or dry.  My family likes mushroom in any form so I have prepared Mushroom Munchurian.  We had this with green shallots fried rice and it was awesome ;-)

INGREDIENTS:

To batter:

Maida / All purpose flour - 3 tsp
Cornflour                         - 2 tsp
Ginger garlic paste           - 1 tsp
Pepper powder                 - 3/4 tsp
Soy sauce                         - 1/2 tsp
Oil                                    - for frying
Salt                                   - as needed

For munchurian:

Mushrooms                - 2 cups
Big onion                    - 1 finely chopped
Green shallots             - 2 strings
Green chillies             - 2
Soy sauce                   - 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste     - 1 tsp
Red chilli sauce          - 1 tsp
Salt                             - as needed


HOW TO MAKE:

In a bowl add maida, corn flour, ginger garlic paste, pepper powder, soy sauce and salt.  Mix well and add water little by little and make a fine neither thick or thin batter.  The consistency should be like bajji batter.



Wash all the mushrooms and wipe it in a dry cloth.  Dip all the mushrooms in the batter and coat well.



Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry the mushrooms until turn into golden brown.  Drain in the tissue.




Heat a tsp of oil in a kadai add finely chopped onions, green chillies, ginger garlic paste.  Fry well until the raw smell goes.  Add chopped green shallots.



Add soy sauce, red chilli sauce, and needed salt.  Blend well.  Add the fried mushrooms and toss well.



Mushroom Munchurian is ready to serve.  Serve with fried rice.




TIPS:

When adding salt care to be taken, because we have added salt in the batter too.  Add little salt to avoid salty taste.

If you want a gravy add a cup of water before you add fried mushrooms.  Allow to boil then add the fried mushrooms.  Cook until it form a gravy.
