Bisi Bele Bath | Instant Pot Bisi Bele Bath | Sambar Sadam | Hot Lentil Rice

Bisi Bele Bath is from Karnataka and is also known as Sambar Sadam.  This delicious rice can be prepared in several ways with various ingredients.  We can add more veggies like beans, potatoes, peas and carrot but today I have made in a very simple way by adding only peanuts.  Bisi means hot, Bele means lentil, and Bath means rice dish; so together it means Hot Lentil Rice 😋. We can make this in pressure cooker, by cooking rice and dal first then mixing in other masalas.  I made it in Instant Pot today which is even more easier than a cooker.  I used the saute mode to make the masala and then added rice and dal - there is no difference in the taste between pressure cook method and Instant Pot, so anything is fine.  I used sambar powder instead of the Bisi Bele Bath powder, but the spices used in both vary very little.  Chips, Boondi, Pappad, Raita or potato fry are all wonderful combos for Bisi Bele Bath 😋😋
