Paruppu Thogayal | Toor Dal Chutney is one of the best comfort foods when paired with hot rasam. This is very apt for the perfect rainy day and definitely helps to soothe our tummy. It can be mixed with hot rice with gingelly oil or ghee on top.....yummmmm.....

STEP BY STEP PARUPPU THOGAYAL:

INGREDIENTS:

Toor Dal             - 1 Cup
Grated Coconut  - 1 Cup
Black Pepper      - 1/4 tsp
Red Chillies       - 5 - 6
Garlic                 - 1 Clove
Salt                     - to taste
Oil                      - 1 tbsp

HOW TO MAKE:

Heat a tbsp of oil in a pan and rost toor dal, red chillies and black pepper.  Roast till toor dal golden brown.


Allow to cool down.  


Transfer to mixie.  Add grated coconut, garlic and needed salt. 


Make a fine paste by adding little water.  Paruppu Thogayal is ready.  


Serve with hot rice on the top of gingelly oil or ghee.  Rasam with paruppu thogayal also a perfect combo.



TIPS:

Roast them with ghee instead gingelly oil.

Adding garlic is absolutely your choice.
