Lemon Rice | Ezhumichai Sadam | Elumichapazha Sadam | No Onion No Garlic Lemon Rice



I would say lemon rice is one of the easiest variety rice. This tangy taste along with green chilli's spice and flavor gives it more taste. It is super easy and yet super yummy...goes well with Paruppu Thogayal or any chips 😋😋

STEP BY STEP LEMON RICE:

INGREDIENTS:

Cooked rice             - 3 Cups
Lemon Juice            - 1/4 Cup or as required
Turmeric powder     - 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves            - few
Salt                          - to taste

TO TEMPER:

Oil                           - 2 tbsp
Mustard Seeds        - 1/2 tbsp
Urad dal                  - 1 tbsp
Green chillies         - 2 finely chopped
Asafoetida              - 1/2 tsp



HOW TO MAKE:

Heat oil in a kadai, splutter mustard seeds add urad dal and asafoetida.  Add green chillies and saute till urad golden brown.  Add green chillies and turmeric powder.  


Saute until turmeric powder flavor goes away.  turn off the stove.  Add lemon juice.  


Mix well, add cooked rice and needed salt.  


Mix well.  Lemon rice is ready.  


TIPS:

Fried peanuts, cashews can be added.

Turn off the stove before adding lemon juice.  Cooking lemon juice will result bitter taste.
