BROCCOLI BRIYANI



INGREDIENS:

Broccoli florets    - 1 Cup
Basmati rice       - 1 1/2 Cup
Onion                - 1 sliced lengthwise
Tomato              - 1 finely chopped
Ginger garlic
paste                  - 1/4 Tsp
Chilli powder    - 1/2 Tsp
Garam masala   - 1/4Tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 Tsp
Salt                      - as needed

To temper:

Oil                 - 1 1/2 Tsp
Bay leaf        - 1
Cloves          - 1
Cardamom   - 1
Cinnamon stick - 1/2 inch

HOW TO MAKE:

Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add all the items which are listed in the temper field.  Add onions and fry until turn into brown in color.  Add ginger garlic paste stir well.  Add chopped tomatoes and blend well.


Add chilli powder, garam masala, turmeric powder and mix well. Wash the rice, add with the masala and blend well.  Add 2 1/2 cups of water with needed salt.  Close the cooker lid and allow two whistles.

Meanwhile wash the brocoli florets and boil it for 5 mins or steam it for 3 mins.  Do not over cooked. keep aside.


Take a bowl and place one ladle of mixed rice on the top place 5 to 10 florets.  Then add second layer rice on the top brocoli florets as shown in the fig.  Mix well with the spatula.


Brocoli Briyani is ready to serve with raitha :-)
