SEMIYA PULAO





INGREDIENTS:

Semiya                      - 2 Cups
Onion                        - 1/4 Cup sliced lenghthwise
Tomato                      - 1 Finely chopped
Ginger garlic paste    - 1/4 Tsp
Mixed vegetables      - 1/4 Cup
Carrot / Peas / Corn  - 1/4 Cup
Garam masala           - 1/4 Tsp
Chilli powder           - 1/4 Tsp
Turmeric powder     - a pinch
Salt                          - as needed

To temper:

Oil                          - 1 Tsp
Cumin seeds           - 1/4 Tsp
Bay leaf                  - 1


HOW TO MAKE:

Heat oil in a kadai add cumin seeds, bay leaf and fry.  Add onion fry until turn in brown in color.  Add ginger garlic paste fry till the aroma comes.  Add chopped tomatoes, chilli powder, garam masala, turmeric powder and salt.  Mix well and cook for a minute.



Add all the vegetables mix it well.  Add the semiya blend well with masala and sprinkle 1/4 cup of water.


Spread the mixture well with spatula finely as shown in figure and cover with the lid.  Cook for 2 to 3 minutes.   Now the semiya get cooked and by the time it absorbed the water.



Semiya pulao ready.  Serve with curd or chutneys.




TIPS:

Add beans, potato too.

Do not add more water, the semiya will get mushy.
