STEP BY STEP BROCCOLI PORIYAL
INGREDIENTS:
Broccoli - 2 cups chopped
Red Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - to taste
Water - 1/4 cup or as required
TO TEMPER:
Oil - 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tbsp
Urad dal - 1 tbsp
Grated Ginger - 1 tbsp
HOW TO MAKE:
Wash broccoli and chop finely. Heat oil in a kadai splutter mustard seeds and add urad dal.
Add grated ginger and saute until urad golden brown. Add red chilli powder and turmeric powder.
Add chopped broccoli, needed salt and little water (Add very less water). Do not overcook broccoli as it will be even tastier when it is crispy. For soft broccoli cook until soft.
Broccoli Poriyal is ready to serve.
TIPS:
Onion, garlic can be added.
Green chilli can be added instead red chilli powder.
Yellow moong dal, grated coconut can be added for more richness.
