Dal with Dill | Dill Leaves Curry | Dill Dal

STEP BY STEP DAL WITH DILL 

INGREDIENTS:

Dill Leaves - 1cup chopped Onion - 1 big chopped Toor Dal - 1 cup cook with 3 cups of water Red chilli powder - 1/2 tbsp Coriander powder - 1 tbsp Cumin Powder - 1/2 tbsp Garam Masala - 1/2 tbsp Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp Salt - to taste

TO TEMPER:

Oil - 1 tbsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tbsp

HOW TO MAKE:

Pressure cook toor dal along with 3 cup water and allow 4 - 5 whistles.  Wash dill leaves and chop finely. Once cooked mash well and keep aside. Heat oil in a kadai add cumin seeds add chopped onion, ginger garlic paste along with needed salt. Mix well and cook until onion translucent.  Add dill leaves. 


Saute until dill leaves translucent.


Add red chilli powder, Coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala and turmeric powder. Mix well and cook until raw flaor goes away.


Add mashed toor dal mixture add water for needed consistency. Mix well and cook for 3 - 4 minutes in medium flame.

                                          

Serve hot with rice, roti or can be taken as lentil dill soup. 


TIPS:

For little tangy flavor a tbsp of lemon juice can be added at the end.  

Mixed dal can be added instead only toor dal.
