STEP BY STEP BRUSSEL SPROUTS PORIYAL:

INGREDIENTS:

Brussel Sprouts - 10 - 15
Salt                  - to taste
Water               - 1/4 Cup or as required

TO TEMPER:

Oil                   - 1 tbsp
Mustard Seeds  - 1/2 tbsp
Red Chilli          - 2 - 3
Moong Dal         - 1/4 Cup
Curry Leaves     - few
Asafoetida         - 1/4 tsp


HOW TO MAKE:

Wash and chop brussel sprouts finely.  


Heat oil in a kadai splutter mustard seeds, add red chillies, moong dal and curry leaves along with asafoetida. Saute until moong dal golden brown. 


Add chopped brussel sprouts along with 1/4 cup of water. Mix well. 


Mix well and cook until moong dal cook soft.  Do not overcook brussel sprouts. Once water evaporated turn off the stove. 




Brussel Sprouts Poriyal ready to serve. 


TIPS:

Cabbage, celery, beans can be cooked in the same way.  

Channa dal can be added instead moong dal.

Onion and grated coconut can be added as well.
