COCONUT THOGAYAL / THENGAI THOGAYAL



INGREDIENTS:

Grated coconut    - 1 cup
Red chillies          - 3 to 4
Channa dhal        - 1 tsp
Urad dhal            - 1 tsp
Tamarind            - a small
Asafoetida          - a pinch
Salt                     - as needed

HOW TO MAKE:

Dray roast channa dhal, urad dhal and red chillies till it turn into brown in color. Turn off the stove and keep the kadai in a same heat.  Add the grated coconut and tamarind. Allow it to cool down.



Grind all the roasted items coarsely or to a fine paste as you like with needed salt.



Serve with variety rice like Mint rice, tamarind rice, lemon rice or Curd rice.  It will be a good combo with sambar and rasam rice too.

Tasty Coconut Thogayal / Thengai Thogayal is ready... :-)



TIPS:

If you like garlic flavour then add a clove of garlic.
