HUMMUS

When we went to the Turkish restaurant they served Turkish bread as starter with four types of DIP.     And this Hummus dip was really yummy.  After the starter I have ordered the bread again to finish the Dip and I just loved it.  My friend made this at home and served with fresh veggies like Carrot, Cucumber & zucchini. I learnt from her also I have surfed some of the websites...It was really tasty and healthy.  My family just enjoyed this dip with Turkish bread and going to make often to have this healthy dip with bread... :-)

INGREDIENTS:

Tinned chickpeas                    - 450 gms (i used 450 gms tin)
Olive oil                                  - 3 Tsp
Garlic                                      - 3 Cloves
Sesame seeds / Tahini paste    - 2 Tsp
Cumin powder                        - 1 tsp
Paprika                                    - 1/4 tsp for garnishing
Lemon juice                             - 1/2 tsp optional

HOW TO MAKE:

Wash the chickpeas and drain the water.  Grind all the ingredients except paprika until it combined well.  Sprinkle water and grind again to make a fine smooth paste.  Sprinkle paprika for garnishing.

Serve with bread.  We had with Turkish bread... Yummy Hummus ready to serve... :-)

TIPS:

Soak chickpeas (Channadhal) over night and use the same instead of tinned one.

Lemon juice is optional.  You can use pepper powder instead of paprika or both.
