VENGAYA CHUTNEY / ONION CHUTNEY



INGREDIENTS:

Onion               - 2
Red chillies      - 9 to 10
Garlic              - 3 cloves
Salt                  - as needed
Oil                   - 2 Tsp
Gingelly oil     - 2 Tsp

HOW TO MAKE:

Heat 1 Tsp oil in a kadai add onion and red chilli and roast the same till golden brown.  Allow it to cool down for 10 mins.


Once it cooled down, in a mixie grind the roasted onion redchillies and garlic with salt.  Do not add water.  Heat 1 Tsp oil splutter mustard seeds and urad dhal, then pour the ground mix and add little water.  Add 1 Tsp of gingelly oil and stir nicely till form into the thick gravy.



Serve with Dosa / Idly.
